i am writing this because i have a boyfriend who was brutally beaten up in 2007 by the springfield police department. they broke his jaw in 2 places and beat him down so much that i could not recognize him. the reason i know this is because i was also there at the scene and also got beaten up by the springfield police department. after his arrest the police refused to get him any medical attention at the scene. they waited until he got to the police station and was looked up and i was tossed around to allow the medics to take him to the hospital. the police laughed at my boyfriend as the blood poured out of his mouth. to top it of he and i were charged with 14 different charges steming from resisting arrest to disturbing the peace. he is currently in jail and has had 2 mistrials. with all of this the cops basically have gotten away with beating him up. he has 2 metal plates in his face. he may also need futher surgery on his jaw.

i am writing this to let peaple know that the Springfield Police Department has gotten away with a lot of things in the past few years. its not fair that our young men and woman of this city have to not worry about someone else doing something to them but also they have to worry about the people that are suppose to help them don’t.

Hi I feel your pain I am the mother of a disable 20 yr man who was beaten and equally charged with reisiting arrest and assault and now sits in jail. The sad part is the North Attleboro Police were called by my neighbor to report a trespasser with a tire-iron coming up my drive way. My son and I were just standing there talking and getting ready to get in my car. The trespasser was kicked off the property earlier and was mixing pills and booze. When the Police4 arrived the drunk was next door and in his car. We had gone in outr house but when we saw the Blue lights came out and told the Police the story and that its been resolved and no one injured and the drunk kid is getting someone to drive his car. The Police went next door and asked the drunk out of his car. The drunk stumbled and the Police siad whats wrong with you, the drunk said I think I was hit in the head, with a beer bottle from my son. My son and I couldnt hear the drunk lieing to the officers. The officers arrested the man for DUI then came back to us, they asked if we were drinking we said no and offered to take a breathelyzer. They then looked all around my property and in my car with a flashlight and found nothing. Thats because the drunk was the only one drinking and he had cans of beer in his car. They then asked my son to come over a few feet from me. I figured they’d ask a couple questions and we would be done as we had done nothing wrong and we were the victims. They were biased against me and my son because they had arrested my son almost 2 yrs before for Pot. That exactly why my son was staying home and straight as he did not want to viloate probation. Well then the officer said put down your cigarette and my son said ok, just one last puff. He was being respectful after all mom was just a few feet away. Well then Slam Bang Boom they hit him and said NOW!!! and started to suff him, after he was hit he pulled away and fell to the ground. they were hitting his head with a flashlight and I pleaded please don’t do that the kid has sever brain trauma and spent months in a Coma in the hospital and so he is really mentally much younger and his head can’t handle more damage. Well it turned out one of the officers had also been the one who arrested him for the pot incicent. It was horrible and also surreal to watch. I said how can this be happening, my son is home staying straight and the family told him that night how well he is doing. And Boom a drunk lies and the Police Beat and his life is destroyed. The Police had 3 sober witnesses to confirm that the kid did nothing and that the drunk was at fault. And the 911 tape to prove the call was for the drunk not for my son. And finally the Police had alot iof fun as they mased this kid with multiple cans when he had made no attempt to hit or kick or anything. Due to his disablity and the beaten and the mase he could barely stand and they said that was struglling and mased him some more. I broke down in tears watching. He asked to go to the hospital and one officer said ”F” that. Then drove him on a Joy ride, with no seatbelt bouncing him around, that is almost like attempted murder considering they were told he already suffers from severe trauma. Then they lost control of the cruiser and wiped out and hit a parked car. And of cours they blamed this 20 yr disable kid that was hom with mom and sister. Nice Job North Attleboro Officers Weiner & Mcmann. And sadly when we first saw the blue lights my young daughter 11 yr went up to her room and watched from there. When they sent her brother to Jail on Prob. violation she cried she couldnt understand what he did wrong. And she is scared of Police now. Oh there is no Justice as Judge Phillips refused to hear from any of the defendents witnesses and did not want to see any medical paperwork. The whole decision was bas on a Lie packed police report. Poor kid sits in jail. I guess if he was out hanging the streets instead of home with his family he wouldnt be in jail.

I am concerned about the lack of investigation and prosecution of Paul Barkyoumb, the Holyoke Police Officer, who was also a member of the FBI Gang Task Force and SWAT Team, who stole a phone from a raid he was involved with and then proceeded to threaten and harass his ex-girlfriend who is the lead victim advocate in the state of CT. It has been a little over 3 months since he was found to be “absolutely corrupt” by a CT Judge and a year since he was also called a liar with a MA Superior CT Judge and yet no one has arrested him, indicted him or held him accountable for his actions. Rather he is on paid leave with tax payers dollars and sitting at home while at this point over a dozen of his cases in both Superior COurt and District COurt have been dismissed. Police Corruption needs to be taken seriously and prosecuted otherwise we send a strong message to the police - they are essentially told they are above the law.
